  • Nepal PM to arrive in Delhi on four-day visit to India

    Nepal’s Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai will arrive in New Delhi today on a four-day visit to India. During his visit, he will meet Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Vice President Mohd. Hamid Ansari and leaders of various political parties.

    Dr Bhattarai has expressed hope that his visit will help further strengthen ties between Nepal and India.

    In an exclusive interview to AIR, the Nepal’s Prime Minister said, the entire gamut of bilateral issues including political and economic will be discussed during his talks with Indian leaders.

    Dr Bhattarai said, various ongoing Indian power projects in Nepal will be continued and they will not be stopped. He said, Nepal will seek to strengthen transmission lines to meet the current shortage of power in the Himalayan nation.

    Mr. Bhattarai said, the peace process in Nepal is expected to achieve a breakthrough during the coming weeks.
