  • Mumbai heaved a sigh of relief last night as heavy rains subsided and weather conditions were back to normal. For the last two days, Mumbai was lashed by heavy rainfall resulting in water logging in many low lying areas including Dadar, Parel, Santacruz, Andheri and Malad.

    The city recorded a rainfall of 94 millimeters on Saturday in South, while 102 millimeters and 134 milimeters of rainfall was recorded in the Eastern and Western suburbs.

    Local trains and the air traffic are back to normal this morning after delays yesterday. The bogies of the derailed Mumbai Bound Darbanga – LTTE holiday special were also cleared from the tracks. However, Trains are continuing to ply on the Kasara – Nashik route with minor delays.
