Brain works, a leading preschool in India, ties up with the Food Food channel for initiating the ‘healthy food for kids’ cause for their proper growth and development. Brain works ties up on the occasion of celebrating their annual sports day with the popular FoodFood show, ‘Mummy ka magic’.

Food is one such part of our lives which we cannot ignore. But it always comes down to healthy food especially for kids below 8 years of age, as these are their developing years. Brain works believes that kids could get into a healthy food habit right from the start. Hence the theme of the sports day was health and nutrition. Brain works believes in the all round development of children and provides a world class learning environment and scientifically researched curriculum to maximize development of children during the early childhood years. With this initiative it focuses on generating awareness amongst the parents and children on the importance of healthy food. The theme of this sports day was healthyfood for smart kids where all the sport races were about good food eating habits. “Say yes to healthy food and No to the Junk food”.

Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor of FoodFood, mentioned that “Nourish your kids with healthy food and not junk food. With a little imagination and knowledge of the nutritional needs of growing children, you can create a range of healthy and delicious dishes which will delight your child. Brain works, by this initiative, has taught the kids the difference between the junk food and healthy food. And Food Foodhas taught parents how to make healthy food fun for kids. Hello to Fun &Fantasy and Goodbye to Fuss & Frowns! Happy Cooking!”

Ms. NanetteD’sa, CEO, Brainworks, “Children must be given the right nutrition, but the challenge moms face is to make nutritious food look good. The Brain works curriculum has a specific program where fruits, vegetables and healthy food are made a part of their learning during snack time and circle time. This year we have extended the theme to sports day as well.”

The races consisted of healthy habits like swimming, doctors, gym, cricket, calcium race, potato race, healthy food. Here, the preschool kids had to choose the healthy food items among the junk and good food mixture and move ahead to finish the race. Students actually picked the healthy food items only. A proud moment for the parents as their children could now differentiate between healthy food and Junk food.

Chef Rakesh Sethi, resident food editor of Food Food, who had attended a sports day event for the first time was extremely happy to see the food concern shown by the school, kids and the parents. He appreciated the innovative initiative of fun-food-play-learn that the kids will surely remember. The event also grabbed the parent’s attention when Chef Rakesh Sethi showed a few quick healthy recipes for the kids from the show Mummy ka Magic. The parents were very involved into the recipes, especially the Moms. It was aday full of food and nutrition for everyone present. The event was held at BMC Ground, Kandivili.
