Media and marketing partner is Question Associates pvt Ltd (Q&A). This year you will see some of your favorite teams with addition of some new and talented entries. We believe that through leadership and entrepreneurship, women can become the torch bearers of woman power.
The women behind QueensXI are passionate and women-oriented minds who vision a better tomorrow for women in sports – Mrs. Archana Gupta, Director KEI Industries Ltd. and Mrs. Tripti Shinghal, CEO – KGS advisors and Founder – Womennovator, joined hands to support a common cause of #womeninsports.
It’s just a start and we won’t stop just here.Speaking on the initiative, Mrs. Archana Gupta, Director KEI Industries Ltd. said “Feminization of cricket faces innumerable challenges and the most important one is lack of opportunities. We recognize and admire the immense potential, Indian women possess in the sporting arena, especially cricket. Through this tournament, we wish to promote and encourage women to come forward and play cricket.”
It’s just a start and we won’t stop just here. Speaking on the initiative, Mrs. Tripti Shinghal Somani, CEO of KGS Advisors LLP & Founder of Womennovator. Said “Woh ladki hai, cricket nahi khel sakti. Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Vrinda Rathi (first female empire) have always proved it wrong. Our initiative, QueensXI is although not just restricted to cricket, it aims to support women who are in sports through giving them platforms where they can play and experience real competition and also explore financial independence through making a mark in sports. It’s just a start and we won’t stop just here.”
Expressing his views on the same, Mr. Akshit Diviaj Gupta, Director- KEI Industries Ltd. said, “The potential of sports in our country is immense but unfortunately never been explored at full. Being a cricket-crazy nation, the interest and inclination towards the sport is intensifying at a fast pace, but at the same time, the gender imbalance continues to persist. We want to empower women to obliterate this gender-gap and emerge as sporting icons to the youth and other Indian women. This will also act as the driving force for the teams that will be a part of the tournament.”
QueensXI is an open category Cricket Tournament with and International and National female cricket players.
Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Haryana and KEI-Delhi
This initiative needs to be nurtured with an open mind and a practical approach. Women’s cricket must be understood on its own merit, independent of men’s cricket performance. Importantly efforts must be made for general acceptance amongst public for the sport played by women who roughly constitute 50% of the population.
