Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Monday alleged that the Central funds are being diverted in Uttar Pradesh.

Terming the state government as corrupt, he took a dig at Mayawati government. He said this while kick starting the Congress party’s campaign in the poll bound state.

Addressing a massive rally at Phulpur, the constituency of Jawaharlal Nehru he promised that Congress will bring an effective and strong Lokpal in the Parliament to check corruption.

He called for change of regime in the state for development of the state.

Rahul Gandhi has been in the forefront of cornering the Mayawati government on various issues setting the tempo for his party’s efforts to recover the ground in the largest state of the country.

In the last Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi led the campaign the end of which Congress party won a substantial 22 seats.
