  • Rain continues to lash several parts of northern India

    Monsoon continues to remain active in north India with light to heavy rainfall drenching some of the states.

    Torrential rain hampered the normal life in Uttarakhand today including Char-Dham Yatra route. AIR correspondent reports that many other highways and link roads are blocked at different places due to landslide following heavy rain.

    Widespread rain lashed several parts of the national capital early in the morning. According to Met department, the city received 12.9 mm of rainfall till 5.30 this morning.

    In Uttar Pradesh, flood situation continued to remain grim.

    National Capital Delhi also experienced light to heavy shower. AIR correspondent reports that intermittent rain lead to water logging and traffic jam at various places.

    Several places in Sirmaur, Shimla, Kangra and Solan districts of Himachal Pradesh received heavy downpours causing minor fluctuation in mercury.

    The maximum temperature in most parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh dipped by up to four degrees Celsius below normal due to heavy rainfall in the region.

    Southwest monsoon also remained active over entire Rajasthan.
