Law Min M Veerappa Moily on Monday met PM Manmohan Singh in the wake of Solicitor General Gopal Subramanium tendering his resignation over the appointment of a private counsel to appear for the govt in a 2G-related case in the Supreme Court.

Moily, who was in Bangalore during the weekend, reached Delhi on Sunday night.

Though there was no official word yet on the meeting, it is learnt that he discussed the issue with the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister is understood to have asked Subramanium not to press his resignation.
