  • Tata Power’s Club Enerji celebrates ‘Oorja Samvardhan Divas’ across 10 cities in India

    Mumbai : Club Enerji, Tata Power’s nationwide energy conservation movement today celebrated ‘Oorja Samvardhan Jeeyo Power Se Tata PowerDivas’ to mark the commencement of National Energy Conservation Week. The mantel of relentless pursuit of spreading awareness on resource conservation was taken up bythe spouses of the Company’s employees who volunteered to be Educators of Club Enerji. The Club trained these volunteers across 10 locations including Mundra, Jojobera, Kalinganagar, Naraj Marthaur, Maithon, Khopoli, Bhira, Tiruldih, Bhivpuri and Mumbai.

    The objective of the program was to ignite young minds on resource conservation, thereby creating awareness on the need to save our planet for a sustainable tomorrow. Volunteers undertook sensitisation across 40 schools and succeeded in sensitizing more than 6500 sTata Power Clubtudents and educated them via videos and PowerPoint presentation on the6 Golden Rules of energy saving. To imbibe these messages, a poster making competition was undertaken for the students on the theme of Energy Saving.

    The event in each school was concluded on a green note, by planting saplings in the premises of the schools at the hands of the students. The importance of green cover and protecting our life givers was imparted and close to 1,000 trees were planted by the students participating in the event.

    Speaking on the widespread success of this initiative,Mr. Anil Sardana, Managing Director – Tata Power said, “Tata Power has always been committed to the cause of saving energy and propagated resource conservation practices since its inception. The culture of conservation has not just been imbibed in our employees, but their families as well. A proof of the same is this movement led solely by the spouses of our employees. They have taken Club Enerji beyond its existing reach and helped spread the message farther. We thank every participant for their enthusiasm and participation in making this event a huge success.”
