In the Kashmir valley, two Laksher-e-Taiba militants were killed in an encounter at Chatragul Kangan in Gandharwal district on Sunday. However, senior superintendent of police Gandharwal Sahid Miraz told AIR that so far only one dead body has been recovered from the site.
The encounter started Sunday morning after the Jammu and Kashmir police and 24 Rashtriya Rifle lodged a joint operation on a tip off. The house in which the two militants were holed up was also gutted in the exchange of fire. The search of the debris was on when reports last came in.
