    Bangladesh rose by 6 spots to 130, out of the 178 countries, in the State of the World’s World's MothersMothers’ Index. State of the World’s Mothers’ Index is a report, London-based aid agency ‘Save the Children’ puts out annually to rank the best and worst places in the world to be a mother. The agency uses data like health, education, child and maternal mortality, female political participation to rank the places.

    Director, ‘Save the Children’ in Bangladesh, Michael Foley told reporters today that Bangladesh has been consistently rising on the State of the World’s Mother’s Index with dramatic cuts in child and maternal mortality rates.

    India is at 137th position, while Pakistan occupies the 147th rank. Nepal is at 116, with Sri Lanka at 89.
