Haflong  : With the ceremonial plantation by Executive Member, NCHAC, Sri Nojit Kemprai at Ramkrishna Seba Samity complex the weeklong 72^nd Vana Mahatsava week is being observed in Dima Hasao from today.

In this connection a brief meeting was held at Ramkrishna Seba Samity complex in presence of Sri Nojit Kemprai, EM,  Hiranmay Bathari, President, RKSS, Haflong, Mukut Kemprai, Principal Secretary, NCHAC M Tungnung IFS, CCF, Tuhin Langthasa, DFO, L Hmar, DFO and all the members of RKSS Haflong.

EM Kemprai appealed to the people to come forward for the protection of mother earth and its environment including wildlife for our better and pollution free environment.

Sri Bathari who is also a retired DFO appreciated the forest department as for the first time plantation is organized in the RKSS complex and requested council authority to extend their support to protect our natural wealth.

CCF Tungnung while explaining the aims and objective of the Vana Mahatsava he said it was festival of plantation and during this week we will be planting in various locations of Dima Hasao.

Earlier all the guests were felicitated by forest officials also the office bearers of RKSS.

Offering vote of thanks DFO Langthasa mentioned Ramkrishna Seba Samity and all the individuals and organization to extend the support to make this event a grand success. He also assured that he would instruct all the forest officials to plant trees themselves also.
