98th Indian Science Congress begins in Chennai Today. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will inaugurate it. The event will be attended by scientists and academicians from all over the world. The programme consists of sessions that will dwell upon issues of science policy, quality education, drug development and application of science in sectors like defence and health.

A Science Exhibition is also being organized for the occasion. It will showcase the contributions of Indian science and technology to the society. The Science Congress will also witness a Science Communication Meet with the theme of ‘bridging the knowledge divide in scientific research’.
