  • India’s technological prowess put on display at Pride of India Expo

    India’s technological prowess was put on full display at the impressive Pride of India Expo on the sidelines of the Indian Science Congress. More than 23 DRDO labs from all over the country have showcased their models, prototypes, tanks and other stare of the art equipment. An actual Arjun Main Battle Tank minus the ammunition which is to be delivered to the army is one of the main showpieces. Addressing a press conference, the PRO, DRDO, Mr. Ravindran spoke about the emerging trends in modern warfare.

    The wall climbing robots and the snake robots developed by the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robots, Bangalore, are star attractions at the expo. Mr. Probodhan, a scientist at CAIR spoke exclusively to AIR about the robots.

    The pioneering work at the Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory, Hyderabad has made the country self sufficient in the production of critical materials and technologies. Mr Sarveswara Rao, Technical Officer at Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory, Hyderabad spoke exclusively to AIR about the Achievements of DMRL.

    State of the art equipments from various other scientific establishments including ISRO, Ministry of earth sciences, ICMR and of models of desalination plants and energy efficient devices are also on display.
