It may be mentioned that on May 20 immediately after the examination commenced, there were reports from various parts of Assam that question papers got leaked prior to the scheduled time of the commencement of the examination. Some candidates claimed that they came across the complete question paper in some WhatsApp groups. The candidates have blamed the State Education Department and Panchayat and Rural Development Department for failing to implement the rules and regulations during the examination. Even sources informed that the question paper was leaked on Whatsapp from a centre in Silchar at around 1:20 pm on May 20. It was suspected that some candidates inside the examination hall at the particular centre managed to carry their mobile phones inside the hall and click pictures of the question papers and thereby leaked it in the WhatsApp groups, which went viral later. It should be mentioned here that a company named Blue Electronic Pvt Ltd was given the responsibility to conduct the examination. On the other hand, the candidates appearing in the Combined Competitive Examination for various posts under the Panchayat and Rural Development (P&RD) department of the Assam government on May 20 at the Rangiya HS School had to face severe problems due to the shortage of question papers. A total of 608 candidates were supposed to appear for the examination at the Rangiya Centre. However, initially only 248 question papers were available against the total list of candidates. Miffed over the mismanagement, angry students came outside the examination halls and started protesting to postpone the examination with immediate effect.
