  • Golden Jubilee Edition of IFFI culminates this evening

    The nine-day long Golden Jubilee Edition of International Film Festival of India, IFFI, in Goa culminated this evening with a glittering award ceremony.

    The festival saw a screening of 300 films for 10,000 plus delegates from different parts of the world.

    French filmmaker Blaisse Harrison’s ‘Particles’ won the Best film award. The award includes Golden Peacock, citation and a cash prize of 40 lakh rupees.

    In a recorded televised message Harrison thanked the audience, jury members and IFFI for the award.

    Seu Jorge, who played the lead role in ‘Marighella’ won the best actor’s award. Usha Jadhav won the best actress award for her film ‘Mai Ghat’.

    The best director’s award went to Lijo Jose Pellissery for his film ‘Jallikattu’.

    The special jury award was given to the film Balloon directed by Pema Tseden, while best debut feature film awards were won by ‘Monsters’ and ‘Abou Leila’.

    Abhishek Shah’s national award-winning film Hellaroo won the Special Mention Award.
