National General Secretary of Nationalist Congress Party- NCP Mr. Shankersinh Vaghela has tendered his resignation from the party. Former Chief Minister of Gujarat Mr. Vaghela had been with BJP, Congress, Rashtriya Janata Party, Maha Gujarat party, Janata Party, Jan Vikalp Morcha and All India Hindustan Congress Party before joining NCP early last year. Earlier, he had alleged that he was removed from the post of Gujarat State president of NCP without his knowledge.

He was replaced by former NCP MLA Jayant Patel  close aide of NCP leader Praful Patel. In a letter to NCP President Sharad Pawar, Mr. Vaghela tendered his resignation from the National General Secretary as well as the active membership of the party.
