    Guwahati : The director officer of the Guwahati-based firm of North East Frontier Railway (NFR) along with two other officers has been arrested by Delhi Police last evening. North East Frontier Railway officials said in Guwahati today that an additional Rs 4 2.04 crore concealed in a private hotel in south Delhi by officials of ABCI Infrastructure Pvt Ltd accused in a bribery case from senior officers of North East Frontier Railway has been seized.

    He said, the CBI had arrested Chief Administrative Officer Ms. Chauhan with a bribe of one crore rupees in the case of NFR and other senior officers. The accused has been identified as Pawan Baid, director, ABC Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Ltd. Indian Railway Engineering Service officer Mahendra Singh Chouhan, construction of North Eastern Border Railway (NFR) was reportedly involved in a bribery case of one crore rupees at NFR headquarters in Maligaon on January 17, Guwahati. From 17th January, Baid was giving arrest. Media reports said that on January 23, a special CBI court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Baid as he was not cooperating with the investigation team.

    The CBI had launched a search operation at various places of hiding in Guwahati, Araria (Bihar), Siliguri and New Delhi. Finally, he was arrested from the national capital. The CBI has registered a case against Chauhan and other deputy chief engineer Hem Chand Bora, assistant executive engineer Lakshmi Kant Verma, Baid, Bhupendra Rawat and Indra Singh under the relevant sections of IPC and prevention of Corruption Act. Earlier, those condemning the investigating agency recovered Rs 4.43 crore including a bribe of Rs 1 crore during the operation.
