Haflong  :In a simple but solemn function, Hmar Women Association, Hmar Students Association and Hmar Youth Association felicitated Doctors, Nurses, and all frontline warriors in presence of Deputy Commissioner, Paul Barua, Joint Director, Health Services Dr Dipali Barman. Superintendent Dr Kalpana Kemprai  ADC etc on Monday at Covid Care Centre .

Under the guidance of Roupui Hmar members of the respective members of the organizations felicitated them with memento and Hmar women made traditional ‘Hmar Gamosa’ ( NGO TEKER) . In the function, all the journalists were also felicitated with ‘Hmar Gamosa’ considering them frontline warriors.

Speaking on the occasion DC Barua appealed to people to respect the Doctors and medical staff as they are all at the time of such pandemic. He also requested medical staff to be kind while dealing with their patients. A good relationship to be maintained between doctor and patient, he added. He also appreciated the efforts of the organizers to come forward to respect the front-line warriors who are there for the people.

Joint Director Dr Barman welcomed the gesture of the Hmar bodies and assured that the medical team despite having constraints would not hesitate to help the people because these were their part and parcel of their duty. She appealed to come forward to fight pandemic unitedly by encouraging the people for mass testing.        

General Secretary   Rozar Fairem talking to the media explained the aims and objective while appealing to the people to stay home and stay safe also to encourage people for vaccination and covid test.
