    Guwahati : Army Chief General Manoj Narwane and Foreign Secretary Harshvardhan Shringla are on a two-day visit to Myanmar. During this, the leaders also held talks with senior military officials of Myanmar. He has also met with famous leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

    This visit of Narwana and Shringla on the strategy made in India is considered very important amidst increasing tension with China.The Foreign Ministry has said that the visit has further strengthened bilateral relations between the two countries. India was concerned about the asylum in Myanmar by some militant organizations in the northeast region.

     However, Myanmar has been saying that it will not allow anyone to misuse their territory against India. This has caused much tension and anxiety to China (China has become upset).Sources in the Indian Army said that the People’s Liberation Army of China had tried to keep the Myanmar army with them, yet it failed. On the other hand, Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla and Indian Army Chief General MM Narwane visited Myanmar on Monday (5 October) amid the Kovid-19 pandemic for a detailed discussion on bilateral relations. Indian officials met Myanmar’s state counselor Aung San Suu Kyi to take the discussion forward.As a gesture of friendship, India handed over a consignment of 3,000 vials of the drug Remedisvir to Suu Kyi to help Myanmar fight the Kovid-19 epidemic. A two-day visit to Myanmar on Sunday by Foreign Secretary and Army Chief Initiated, for the first time an Indian delegation in the neighboring country has included both officials. They have meetings with Myanmar’s top civilian and military leadership to move forward in areas ranging from security to connectivity.

    Notably, this is the Army Chief’s first out-of-country visit between the Kovid-19 epidemic and the Indo-China tension on the Line of Actual Control. Notably, Army Chief MM Narwana has served as India’s defense instructor in Myanmar for the past few days. Shringla and Narwana discussed “important bilateral issues” during the meeting with Suu Kyi at the Ministry of External Affairs in Naipitav, the Indian embassy said in a tweet without giving details.The safe return of Rohingya refugees from Bangladesh to Myanmar is also expected during the visit. Dhaka is pressuring New Delhi to use its good relations with New Delhi to take this process forward. On the security front, Myanmar recently handed over 22 Indian rebels, which was “deeply appreciated by the Indian government and sends a strong message of condemnation of antisocial elements on both sides”, said FS.

In recent times, the two sides have strengthened their cooperation in many areas, including connectivity and trade, development projects, energy, capacity building, defense and security and culture and connecting people to people.A senior Indian Army officer told this reporter that “During his two-day visit, the Army Chief has also reviewed the preparations for the troops who have been holding a front against North Eastern terrorist groups and Chinese troops for the last three months.” On Monday, the Indian Army reported that the Chinese military carried out ‘provocative military activities’ in a ‘unilateral’ military effort to change the status quo on the southern side of the international border at night, but Indian troops thwarted Chinese efforts. .
