Maharashtra Government has informed that about eighty percent of the state’s farmers will be eligible for the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Speaking to reporters after attending a meeting with agriculture and revenue officials in Mumbai, the state’s Revenue and Agriculture Minister Chandrakant Patil said the estimated number of beneficiaries in the state is expected to be around 1.20 crore.
He said a farmer holding up to two hectares of land will be eligible, while any land holding person who is employed in any government or semi-government job or any other kind of profession will be omitted from the list of beneficiaries.
