The axe has finally fallen on the bureaucrats for their alleged role in the Adarsh housing scam; the latest who will go through the axe are state Information Commissioner Ramanand Tiwari and State Human rights commission member Subhash Lala. The Maharashtra Government has sought their resignation for their alleged involvement in the Adarsh Housing scam.

Maharashtra’s Chief Secretary J P Dange today informed reporters at Mantralaya in Mumbai that the government has asked the two bureaucrats to put in their papers.

Tiwari was Urban Development secretary when the Adarsh file was being processed while Lala was secretary to the Chief Minister. Relatives of both the bureaucrats have flats in the housing society.
