  • Air India sets up committee to probe fake pilot issue

    Public carrier Air India has set up a three-member committee to scrutinize the qualification documents of its pilots. The committee, comprising two Air India Executive Directors in charge of Operations and Industrial Relations, will submit its report soon to the company’s Chief Vigilance Officer. Directorate General of Civil Aviaition, DGCA is scrutinizing licenses of 3,000 to 4,000 pilots in the wake of the fake pilot scare. Quoting sources, AIR correspondent reports that retired and serving DGCA officers are also under scanner in this regard. Delhi police has said two pilots arrested in the capital for obtaining flying licence by allegedly forging marksheets are believed to have paid touts a huge amount.
