  • Akhilesh’s minister, Laxmikant in 14-day judicial custody

    New Delhi; In Uttar Pradesh, a local court ​of district ​Sant Kabir Nagar ​yesterday ​sent Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies, Laxmikant alias Pappu Nishad, to 14-day judicial custody in a case lodged in 2006. Nishad had been facing a non-bailable warrant issued from the court.​ On Friday, Laxmikant ​Nishad ​appeared before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Sanjay Kumar Gaur but was denied bail.

    Superintendent of Police, Sant Kabir Nagar, Shailesh Kumar Pandey said​ that ​a complaint was filed ​by one woman Chandmati ​against Laxmikant in a local court in 2006 on different charges including ​beating , house trespass and criminal intimidation.​ The court has fixed Monday ​11th July ​as next date for hearing.
