  • Andhra Govt sets up State Security Commission under chairmanship of state Home Minister

    apAndhra Pradesh State Government today set up the State Security Commission under the chairmanship of the state Home Minister. The Six-Member Commission has been set up following the Supreme Court’s directions for efficient, transparent and accountable performance of police system.

    Principle Secretary C P Das has issued orders to this effect. Chief Secretary to the state Government, Principle Secretary in Home department, Law Secretary and a retired High Court Judge will be members of the commission. The Director General of Police will be the Convener and Secretary of the commission.

    The commission will advice the state Government on broad policy guidelines pertaining to effective policing and will assist it in identifying organizational goals for preventive tasks. It will also recommend the Government on strategic and perspective plans for police.
