Haflong  :Dima Hasao Police once again proved to be tough against any peace breaker in the district. After solving the Phainsodao Nunisa kidnapping case by arresting three persons, one operation was launched by Assam police under Maibang police station area on Friday(today on 28-12-18).

During operation, an encounter took place between police and members of armed group. Post operation, during area search, police recovered a person who succumbed to his injuries and one rifle along with 81 rounds of live ammunition as well as two mobile handsets.

The person was later identified as Jitesh Haflongbar of Motibra village Police Station Maibang. Area search is continuing to apprehend other members of group.

Police source informed armed groups comprising 6 or 7 persons who have been involved in the recent kidnapping and also in extortion in the name of Dimasa National Army were trying hard to break peace in the district for sometimes which is not at all desirable for the peace-loving of Dima Hasao.
