Kokrajhar: Police have recovered five(5) AK-47, two (2) AK-56, two(2) HK-33 Rifles along with one(1) M20 and  three(3) 9mm Pistols and other munitions from different locations in Assam’s Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BATD) in the last 36 hours.

In Chirang district, one factory made (HK series) rifle along with one magazine and 10 rounds live ammunition have been  recovered from Mwinaguri No. 4 village under Bijni Police station today.

According to police, based on specific information, Chirang Police led by Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Chirang and Bijni Police Station staff carried out a search operation at  Mwinaguri No. 4 village under Bijni Police Station on Sunday and recovered one factory made (HK series) rifle along with one magazine and 10 rounds live ammunition which were kept concealed inside the ground and accordingly seized.

In Udalguri, Police recovered 1 HK-33 Rifle,1 M-16 Rifle, 1 AK-47 Rifle and ammunition in a search operation, near the Laxmi river at Ghagra No-2 village under Harisinga Police Station today.

Today’s recovery came close to the recovery of arms and ammunition from Kokrajhar and Baksa district on Friday and Saturday. Kokrajhar police recovered illegal arms and ammunitions including one AK series rifle, two AK series magazines, one polythene sheet used for wrapping and covering the rifle and magazine to which lubricant was applied and thirty (30) number of AK series ammunitions in a plastic container half filled with rice husk from Duligaon area under Tipkai police outpost in Parbhatjhora subdivision of Kokrajhar districton Friday evening
Moreover, two (2) AK Rifles, two (2) 9 mm Pistols and ammunition were recovered from Goreswar Police Station, one (1) AK 47 and 36 live ammunition were also recovered from Simla Police station on Saturday evening.
