Somewhat shockingly, the miscreant has also killed a puppy in front of the BJP leader’s gate. The incidently reportedly happened at 6 am.The entire incident has been captured on CCTV surveillance camera. Police are investigating the case. The incident seems to be a result of a political rivalry as Gao handily won the 2019 Lok Sabha election beating his nearest rival, Lowangcha Wangat of the Congress by a margin of 69,948 votes. Gao polled a total of 1,53,883 votes, while Wanglat polled 83,935 votes. Kiren Rijiju, the poster boy of the BJP on the Northeast, also won the election handily against his rival, Congress’ Nambam Tuki.

It may be mentioned that the election process — at the end of which the BJP emerged victorious in both the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls — was marred by violence, allegations of booth capturing and re-polls. MLA Tirong Aboh was also shot down by alleged Naga militants at Khonsa at Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district. After the results were announced, it came to light that Aboh, who was contesting from Khonsa West, had actually won the election.

It may be mentioned that NPP’s Jarpum Gamlin has slammed these elections as the “worst in Arunachal history”.
