Guwahati : Arunachal Violence is getting more and more dangerous as the angry mob has taken over the streets of Arunachal and burnt down Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein’s residence and the DC office and targetted the Chief Minister Prema Khandu’s residence but repulsed by the paramilitary forces. Arunachal’s Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein’s residence and the DC office in Itanagar were burnt down while the Chief Minister Prema Khandu’s residence was attacked by a 3000 strong mob, which was repulsed by the paramilitary forces. The situation in Itanagar and twin town of Nahrlegun is completely out of control as the protestors of belonging to 18 organisations attacked even the army convoy conducting flag march. The protestors were today further provoked with the death of one in the police firing even as the original 48 hours bandh call ended this morning. Another youth received injuries today as police fired in blank this morning to protest CM’s house. The protestors were protesting against the government decision to give permanent residence certificate to some tribals groups belonging to Assam. This was however quickly rescinded by Arunachal Government but that did not end the protest, which has clear political undertone with the full backing of the Congress. Meanwhile The BJP today made a veiled attack on Congress for the ongoing violence in Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar. The Union Minister of State for Home today released a video where Congress state president Takam Sanjay was seen supporting Permanent Resident Citizenship (PRC) to those people living lawfully in the state but not indigenous people of Arunachal. He tweeted that he was always against the PRC accused the Congress of instigating the violence. He also said that Congress had a different position in the districts and different position in the capital. The Congress has tacit support to the protest and it is suspected that Congress President Takam Sanjay was behind the violent agitation. In fact, Congress president Rahul Gandhi also tweeted in this regard. The entire Congress leadership of Arunachal Pradesh have been summoned by Party President today to take stock of the situation. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Prema Khandu appealed for calm and assured that hi government would not take any decision which would harm the indigenous people of the state.
