Guwahati : Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary informed the Assam Assembly that overall 34,357 cases were pending in Gauhati High Court till August 31 in 2018. As per his statement, in Itanagar bench of the high court 1345 cases are pending, 463 cases in Kohima bench and 416 cases in Aizwal bench. On the other hand, according to Patowary 32,133 cases are pending in the principal seat of Gauhati High Court so far. In 2014, the Gauhati High Court disposed 25,187 cases, 23,658 cases in 2015, 19,969 cases in 2016, 26,980 cases in 2017 and 17,791 cases till August 31 in 2018. The Aizwal bench disposed 547 cases in 2014, 571 cases in 2015, 493 cases in 2016, 548 cases in 2017 and 344 cases till August 31, 2018. The Itanagar bench disposed 1014 cases in 2014, 1368 cases in 2015, 1116 cases in 2016, 1092 cases in 2017 and 1082 cases till August 31 in 2018. The Kohima bench disposed 723 cases in 2014, 531 cases in 2015, 573 cases in 2016, 769 cases in 2017 and 429 cases till August 31, 2018.
