Assam: In Assam, the final draft of the National Register of Citizens, NRC will not be published tomorrow. Official sources in Guwahati said that the document verification process under the NRC was hampered at some places due to the recent wave of floods.

Earlier, 30th of this month was the date fixed by the Supreme Court for this purpose. The issue is likely to be taken up in the Supreme Court on the 2nd of next month. AIR correspondent reports that the first draft of the NRC including the name of 1.9 crore citizens was published on the 31st of December last year. The NRC of 1951 is being updated in Assam to find out the genuine citizens.
