    Guwahati : Assam government distributed Rs 3.40 crore under the Atal Amrit Abhiyan in the last one month.1120 beneficiaries availed monetary assistance in a month under Atal Amrit Abhiyan in Assam.Besides, 1.5 crore beneficiaries have enrolled their names for the cashless card system under the scheme. The scheme provides free and cashless medical coverage to families with annual income Rs 5 lakh or less. 24 hospitals within Assam and 25 outside Assam are providing medical coverage for critical diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular diseases, kidney disorder, neurological conditions etc under the scheme. Beneficiaries can avail monetary assistance up to Rs 2 lakh per individual under the scheme. Meanwhile, several district kiosks have been set up in the state for the enrolment of the eligible beneficiaries. After enrolment, each adult beneficiary will be given a laminated card with a unique identification number which will ensure cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals. Another scheme – Ayushman Bharat Yojana – has been rolled out nationally which will provide Rs 5 lakh medical coverage per year to the families who are below the poverty line (BPL). The eligible families will be able to avail treatment for as many as 437 diseases under six categories at the major hospitals across the country. The scheme is yet to be launched in Assam. More than 27 lakh BPL families will be able to avail the services which will provide insurance coverage up to Rs 5 lakh for any disease.
