In a bid to bring more transparency in public delivery system, Assam government has implemented The Assam Right to Public Service Act, 2012.

The act is being implemented in 21 districts at the first phase.55 services of 14 departments have been included under the act.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi hoped that it would help to establish an interface with the public and bring about accountability and transparency which are keys for good governance.

He said, The Public Service Act will assure timely delivery of services to citizens and eliminate delays in availing certain important services.
