Ayurveda Departments will be opened in the 19 new All India Institute of Medical Science, AIIMS, AYUSH Minister Shripad Yesso Naik announced on Monday.

Inaugurating the 3rd Ayurveda Day in New Delhi, he said, work is already in progress to start Ayurveda Departments in hundred ESIC hospitals under Ministry of Labour.

Mr Naik also said that Home Ministry has approved to open Ayurveda Departments in seven hospitals of BSF and other Paramilitary forces.

The Minister said, this year government has taken many steps to fulfil the theme ‘Ayurveda for public health’.

Mr Naik said, his Ministry has decided to further expand the coverage of the National Programme of ‘Prevention of Non-Communicable Disease’ from existing six states.
