  • Baichung, Munmun & Indranil figure in TMC list for LS polls; Left Front re-nominates 13 standing MPs from WB

    TMC ListIn West Bengal ruling Trinamool Congress and opposition Left Front have announced candidates list for the coming Lok Sabha Elections today. Announcing the names of candidates the Trinamool Congress Supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee said in Kolkata that the party will contest the polls alone in all 42 seats in the state. Out of 19 standing MPs two have been denied nominations this time and other two MPs have left the party. Our Kolkata correspondent reports that Footballer Baichung Bhutia, actress Munmun Sen, Sandhya Roy, actor Dev, Professor Sugata Bose and singer Indranil Sen have been nominated by the party to fight the elections. Opposition Left Front has also re-nominated its 13 sitting MPs in the coming hasting. CPI MP Mr. Gurudas Dasgupta, Forward Bloc MP Mr. Nripen Roy and CPIM MP Dr. Anup Kumar Saha are not contesting elections this time. The Left Front Chairman Mr. Biman Bose told in Kolkata that 26 new faces have been inducted in the candidates list. He said that out of total 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state the Left parties will put up six women, 12 belonging to minority communities and 13 Schedule Cast and Schedule Tribes candidates.
