Mangaldai   : Acting on a specific input an operational police team of Kharupetia police station in Assam’s Darrang district led by its Officer in Charge, SI Chandan Goswami on Monday night raided the house and campus of one Sahjahan Ali, an established fertilizer dealer of Kharupetia town in presence of Yuvaraj Borthakur, Circle Officer, Dalgaon Revenue Circle. There they seized 190 pieces of liquid  pesticides spraying new machine laden in a goods carrier four wheeler bearing registration AS 01D 0339 and also picked up the handiman of the vehicle Moinul Haque of Kalaigaon, Udalguri for interrogation. During interrogation the handiman confessed before Magistrate that the machines have been brought from an office under Udalguri District  Agriculture Department. However the driver as well as the owner of the vehicle identified as Ajijul Ali, a resident of Kalaigaon and the owner of the residence Sahjahan Ali managed to escape under the cover of darkness. In this connection police has registered a case (No. 166/2018 U/S 420/409 IPC) and on Tuesday produced the accused handiman before the court and court remanded him to two day’s police custody.
