Union Cabinet approves capacity hike for Solar Power from 20,000 MW to 40,000 MW.The hike is to ensure setting up of 50 solar parks across the country and also approves investment proposal for Nepal hydro electric project.

In an important decision, Cabinet committee on Economic affairs has approved investment proposal for generation component of Arun-3 Hydro Electric Project in Nepal by Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Project Limited . The cabinet has approved investment of 5723 crore for the project of 900MW capacity.

Cabinet has also given a go ahead to capacity hike from 20,000 MW to 40,000 MW of Scheme for Development of Solar Parks and Ultra Mega Solar Power Projects.

Capacity hike to ensure setting up of at least 50 solar parks each with capacity of 500 MW above in various parts of country

Cabinet has also approved memorandum of understanding (MoU) between India and Australia for cooperation in civil aviation security.

Besides, approving signing of the Air Services Agreement between India and Greece, the cabinet has also approved signing of an agreement between India and Poland on cooperation in agriculture and allied sectors.
