  • Centre proposes comprehensive Industrial Policy for J&K to attract investment

    Centre will soon announce a comprehensive Industrial Policy for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to attract huge investment in the region. This was disclosed by Union Minister Som Prakash while interacting with local industrialists and representatives of traders Associations in Jammu on Wednesday. He said, the policy will satisfy all stakeholders and provide a level playing field for the growth of industry. Mr Prakash said, Central government will extend all help to local industrialists to enable them to flourish and compete with others by providing them level field.

    He said, due to several political and economic barriers, the people in the region, including industrialists, were deprived of avenues for growth and fast-paced development. Mr Prakash said, the people of Jammu and Kashmir, have strong will and determination to progress with rest of the country. The Minister assured the industrialists that all the issues flagged up by them will be given due consideration by the government and subsequently redressed.

    Another Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurated an All Women Post Office in Srinagar yesterday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Centre is striving hard for the overall development and prosperity of the youth of J&K. Mr Prasad said the initiative of opening of All Women Post Office is to encourage and empower the women of the country. The Minister further stated that Circuit Bench of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal will be started soon in Srinagar, besides 350 lawyers of J&K will become notary soon.
