Government today said the country is on track for Open Defecation free India by October next year.
In a written reply in Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ramesh Chandrappa Jigajinagi said over eight crore 97 lakh individual household latrines have been constructed under Swachh Bharat Mission, till 17th of this month.
Nigrani Samiti’s have been formed in villages to ensure, people use only toilets and not go for open defecation.
