GUWAHATI : Ceremonial distribution of additional RF to SHGs and PMFME grant to ALFs of urban bodies under Dibrugarh district along with a review meeting of different schemes of Housing and urban affairs and irrigation was held at the conference hall of the DC office, Dibrugarh which was organised by City Mission Management Unit(DAY-NULM), Dibrugarh in collaboration with Dibrugarh district administration.The meeting which was chaired by the Honourable Minister of DoHUA and irrigation Shri Ashok Singhal withnessed the presence of Dibrugarh district MLAs,Shri Prasanta Phukan,Shri Chakradhar Gogoi,Shri Taranga Gogoi,DC , Dibrugarh,Shri Biswajit Pegu,DDC,Shri Sanjoy Dutta,Chairmans and executive officers of Dibrugarh,Chabua, Naharkatiya,Namrup MB, concerned departments,Banking officials,and beneficiaries of SHGs and ALFs.,street vendors etc.Honourable Minister said that the MoHUA has launched this scheme (PM SVA Nidhi)basically to lend a helping hand to the marginalized people who has been badly affected during COVID-19 so that they can revive their financial loss and can be brought back to the mainstream economic zone.

Through this scheme vendors can get a capital of Rs.10,000 to help them to start a small business of their own.He interacted with the banking officials and requested them immediately to disburse the loans and also suggested them to hold meetings with the beneficiaries so as to expedite the process by explaining the its and bits of the scheme that it is a loan and not a grant.He also asked the bankers to co-operate and help the distressed people and not to ignore them.He further added that our Honorable Prime Minister of India has personally sent letter which definitely shows that these small business men has a lot to offer for our future economy.He said that a total of 40 crores accounts has been opened and about 1 crore 70 lakhs crores of rupees is saved in these accounts.Honourable Minister of DoHUA was highly dissatisfied with the performance of the private banks as when the bankers were asked about their failure to disburse the loans,they reported that they are not authorised to sanction the amounts for which Honourable Minister replied that it is major drawback and if it continues it will finally be reported to RBI .He further reviewed the AMRUT scheme and asked the authorities and officials to expedite the progress of the works and tried to be finished within 21 days.

For household water connections ,a core team will be formed with the Chairperson DMB,Vice chairman DMB,SHG which will be headed by DC and forms will be distributed in household connection and proper training will be provided.He further added that the quality of water in the urban areas is quite contaminated and acidic and that pure and contaminated free water should be provided and asked the officials to expedite the progress of the work and complete the project successfully.He further added that the approach to Road Water Treatment Plant will be constructed by PWD and DC will inspect the work progress.Regarding the review of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana , Honourable Minister asked the officials that even after receipt of the 2 nd installment ,why aren’t the construction of the houses are still pending.Regarding the review report of Swacch Bharat Mission, Honourable Minister expected that Dibrugarh should be one of the most cleanest place.He finally ended with the review of the look out of the Master plans project for future Dibrugarh district.
