  • Clean Arunachal’ Campaign To Resume Soon

    Guwahati : After a temporary halt, All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union will resume its campaign called ‘Clean Arunachal’ to identify the ones who do not possess an inner line permit (ILP).The president of the AAPSU Hawa Bagang said in a press conference that the campaign will restart more intensely this time the campaign will go to every household. The AAPSU president also said that campaign that started from 12th August will identify the people residing in in the state illegaly and will hand them over to the state police. Bagang also mentioned that there are still more than a lakh people residing in Arunachal illegally who do have the required documents. He also alleged that government officials and the business class bought many people who gradually settled in the state. AAPSU has also started a campaign against such government officials who provide shelter to such people. In Arunachal Pradesh’s Tezu district 70% of the population do not have permit but play a major role in the MLA elections. He also said the the non-Arunachali people pose a threat for the local people. The local Arunachali political leaders are providing security to such people in the state who do not have proper inner line permit. It is to be mentioned that more than 35000 people residing in Lohit district of Arunachal applied for NRC, has no link with Assam . There has been allegations that many with no legal documents applied for NRC in Assam claimed to be from Nepal and Assam’s Karimganj district.
