Mangaldai :With few hours left for promising young archer Pramila Daimary from a remote village of Assam  making her debut in the much coveted  Asian Games in the recurve event of Archery as the first sportsperson from the undivided Darrang district of the state to represent in the prestigious international mega sports event , her birth place Khagrabari village of Bhergaon Sub Division in Udalguri district has turned out to be just like a  place for worshipping of sports . People in different nook and corners of the village has started displaying banner , posters and hoarding with photographs of their ‘worthy village girl’ Pramila besides performing prayer for her victory almost every where . Parents of Pramila Abhi Ram Daimary and Renu Daimary along with all their neighbours are very much confident on winning a medal by Pramila for her nation .

 

Meanwhile on Tuesday all section of the villagers of Khagrabari village of Bhergaon Sub Division in Udalguri district  performed a community prayer in the traditional rituals of ‘Bathou Dharma’ at the ‘Bathou Mandir’ of the village praying for the victory of Pramila who will appear in the ‘battle for supremacy’ in her event in the Asian Games in Jakarta on Thursday. The entire village Khagrabari since this morning wore a festive yet religious look as six priests of ‘Bathou’ namely Deben Daimary, Guna Ram Boro, Hari Chandra Boro, Tarun Chandra Daimary, Gopi basumatary and Kandu Majhi Boro begun the prayer by performing ‘Bathou’ hymns that lasted for three hours and prayed for the blessings of the Almighty to pave the way for the victory of the ‘worthy village daughter’ Pramila Daimary

 

In the prayer function anchored by General Secretary of Bhergaon District Sports Association Lakkhi Ram Boro various organizations including the organizers offered felicitation to the proud parents of Pramila. Many prominent persons including  Commanding Officer of the Udalguri  Army Unit Colonel Rahul Singh , legislators Kamali Rani Basumatary of Panery and Maheswar Boro of Kalaigaon respectively, Deputy Speaker of BTC Assembly Nerson Boro, former MCLA Rati Ram Boro, Secretary of Udalguri District Committee of ABSU Anup Daimary, Additional Deputy Commissioner cum i/c Sub Divisional Officer (Civil) of Bhergaon Dithakananda Hazarika, Secretary of Darrang District Committee of Asom Gana Parishad Swaraj Deka and Publicity Secretary Naba Deka Committee of ABSU , Office bearers of Mangaldai Media Circle including its president  Hitesh Hazarika and adviser Bhargab Kumar Das took part in the prayer.
