  • Cong-JMM to form coalition govt in Jharkhand

    jharkhandThe Congress and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Friday formally announced their alliance in Jharkhand.

    JMM leader Hemant Soren said the Congress and the JMM will form a coalition government.

    “The JMM and the Congress have decided to form a coalition government…We are also going to fight the 2014 Lok Sabha polls together. The Congress today assured us the support,” Soren told media.

    Jharkhand has been under the President’s rule after the JMM-BJP alliance broke on Jan 18, 2013 as the JMM withdrew its support from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.

    AICC General Secretary in-charge of Jharkhand, BK Hariprasad earlier said that talks were in its final stage between the Congress and the JMM.
