  • The BJP on Thusday hit back hard at Congress leader Shashi Tharoor for his remarks regarding India becoming Hindu-Pakistan, if the BJP is re-elected in 2019 national elections.

    Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore said that Constitution is a religious book for the government and BJP.

    While BJP demanded an apology from Congress President Rahul Gandhi for Tharoor’s remarks.

    Taking a jibe at Tharoor, the Minister said that he is hallucinating and showing withdrawal symptoms of the fact that neither they are in power nor do they see power coming to them again.

    BJP has reacted sharply to Tharoor’s Hindu Pakistan comment.Tharoor’s comments prompted demands for apology from Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

    A livid BJP came out strongly against Tharoor over his comments, with party spokesman Sambit Patra calling it an attack on the Indian democracy and Hindus.

    Congress leader Shashi Tharoor kicked up a huge row with his remarks while addressing a function in Thiruvananthpuram on Wednesday that if voted to power again, the BJP will rewrite the Constitution and pave the way for creation of a “Hindu Pakistan”.

    Distancing itself from Tharoor’s remarks Congress said that the democracy in India is so strong that India can never become Pakistan.The opposition party also asked its members to observe restraint.

    Congress may well have distanced itself from Tharoor’s remarks  but its leaders have made controversial remarks in the past as well…from Digvijay Singh to Mani Shankar Iyer.
