    Haflong :   NCHAC, CEM Debolal Gorlosa along with his team of Executive Members and Deputy Commissioner Amitabh Rajkhowa visited Haflong market to take stock of the precautionary practices implemented in market area during market hours as issued by the government due to prevailing threat of corona virus.

    As per the earlier directives of the government, the market association was instructed to keep the groceries and other essential commodities available for the people during the market hours as announced by the government. However, seeing people hoard the market specially the vegetable sellers and shops without following any precautionary measures and the mandatory distance of 1 meter, CEM Debolal Gorlosa has directed the administration to take stern action inorder to prevent probable spread of CORONA VIRUS in this district.

    Meanwhile DC has conveyed that there is sufficient food stock in the district and has appealed people not to panic shop thus making market areas crowded. It was observed that inspite of repeated correspondence to the public not to loiter or got to market unless urgent, people violated the medical advisories.

    In this regard Assam Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal instructed Chief Secy, Assam Kumar Sanjay Krishna to direct DCs of all districts to only allow groceries and pharmacy to remain open until further order. Grocery shops to provide vegetables, fruits, eggs, gingers, garlic and water etc. Further DC is also to organise distribution of vegetables etc through mobile vans in all areas, according to which as per instruction by the district Food & Civil Supplies, the Haflong market association has been communicated to facilitate the same. No meat or fish shops be open till 31st March and will be reviewed on 1st April next as directed by the state and also appropriate timing of market hour is to be decided on consultation with the local authority in Dima Hasao.

    An addition of 138 number of people have been screened taking the total upto 2484, number of people under home quarantined is 357 and so far 68 surveillance team is active on field.
