Haflong  : The convocation ceremony of 2-year D.El.Ed (ODL) for the session 2017-2019 organised by the in-service teachers –trainees (Odl), principal and faculty members of the district institute of education and training (DIET) Dima Hasao was held at the District library auditorium of Sunday.

Nandita Gorlosa, Executive Member, N C Hills Autonomous Council attended the occasion as the chief guest.

Gorlosa in her speech appreciating some of the schools which are doing very good appealed to all the teachers and trainees to find out the hidden talent of the students and encourage their students according to their interest. Encouraging some of the teachers for their good services, she said there should not be proxy teachers in any schools because if any proxy teacher is found in Dima Hasao, there would be no answer from her end. She also assured that whatever possible help was needed for the betterment of the education in Dima Hasao, she would stand by the teachers always.

Soma Khersa, Principal, district institute of education and training (DIET) Dima Hasao and other faculty members and resource persons also spoke on the occasion while appealing the teachers and trainees to use their skills which they have learnt during the traning in bringing the education standard higher and higher. Many teachers expressed their happiness to get the opportunity for the training in Dima Hasao and appreciated the authority for giving them the opportunity to get trained since this training would definitely help them very much.

Teachers and trainees also performed traditional dances, song followed by lighting of holy lamp by Chief Guest, Nandita Gorlosa in presence of huge gathering of teachers and trainees.

This was followed by the distribution of certificates to the trainees by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, faculty members and resource persons.
