Haflong:  As per notification from the Assam State Election Commission, Amitabh Rajkhowa, Returning officer cum Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao announced the schedule for the North Cachar Hills Autonomous council today at 3:00 P.M at his office chamber addressing the press on Saturday.

As per the notification, schedule of election for the 28 (twenty eight) number of constituencies in the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council polling will be held on 19^th January, 2019. Polling will be held across 280 polling stations between 7:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M.

The date for counting of votes will be on 22^nd January, 2019 to begin from 8 A.M onwards till completion of the counting process.

The DC further announced that the period of filling of nomination is from 24^th Dec, 2018 to 3^rd Jan, 2019 between 11:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M, scrutiny of which will be held on 4^th January, 2019 between 11:00A.M to 3:00 P.M

The last date for withdrawal of candidature is 7^th Jan, 2019 and publication of list of contesting candidates on the same date.

It was further announced that date for re-polling if any will be on 22^nd Jan, 2019.

With this the model code of conduct in connection with election to the council will come to force with immediate effect in Dima Hasao district.
