     MANGALDAI :: Students from the lower primary sections of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV ), Mangaldai on December 13 observed grandparents day under common minimum programme . Satyabala Saharia, a grandmother was the chief guest of the function.

    The programme was inaugurated by lightening of the traditional lamp jointly by Hitesh Kumar Verma, Principal (i/c) of the school along with senior teachers Sahena Begum and Manasi Devi in presence of other staff . Sahena Begum , teacher (i/c) primary section in her welcome address explained the significance celebrating the Day at a time when the relations between grand children and grand parents are fast widening. Speaking on the occasion Hitesh Kumar Verma, Principal (i/c) told about the relevance of the divine relationship among grand parents and their grand children and its importance in anybody’s life.

    A game “Passing the ball on music” for the Grand Parents was also conducted which entertained the grandparents the most The children of different lower primary standards also presented cultural items like action song, a dance on Namami Brahmaputra , Dada-daadi song , skit , Bihu dance etc.

    Some of the grandparents showered their blessings on the children . The celebration which ended with the vote of thanks being presented by teacher Prasanta Hazarika, witnessed an exhibition of Teaching Learning Materials (TLM). Refreshments were distributed to the children as well as to the grandparents at the end of the function.
