Mangaldai : Joint efforts of the staff from the State Forest and Veterinary Departments for the last couple of days are on to tranquilize or safe capture of the Royal Bengal tiger straying from the Orang National Park and Tiger Reserve Project . A team of tranquilizers in four elephants led by veterinary surgeons Dr Bhaskar Choudhury and Dr Prabhat Basumatary has already been placed into service day and night to tranquilize the female matured Royal Bengal after a section of labourers of the Borgorha Tea Estate witnessed the movement of the tigress and its existence was also recorded in the special camera on Friday night . Chakrapani Rai , the Range Officer of the Orang Tiger Reserve Project has confirmed the tigress to be of the Tiger Reserve as it was identified and recorded as the No-3 in the last tiger census . ‘ The tigress bears the no-3 in our last survey. There are few reports of killing of domestic pigs and it has presently been straying in between the Borgorha TE and Borobagisha kathoni area few kilometers from the Tiger Reserve boundary .” the Range Officer shared . “ We have made all sorts of efforts including bringing of tranquilizing team, iron cage for capturing and safe return of the Royal Bengal . But till now efforts are yet to bring desired result .” Rai added.
