Haflong  : Though not a single nomination filed till the date, the electioneering has got momentum in Dima Hasao immediate after the declaration of party tickets by Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress, people claimed. 

Political observers says this time the election to the 16 Haflong (ST) constituency will be very interesting and unprecedented as it is expected to be neck to neck fight between INC and BJP.

Though there has been time for filing nomination but till date as many as three candidates are readying for the contest.  From BJP Smt Nandita Gorlosa, from INC Sri Nirmal Langthasa and from BTP (Bharatiya Tribal Party, a very less known party in the district) Sri Khandan Daulagupu will be contesting. One or two candidates likely to contest the election as independent and the election scenario will be clearer only after the date of scrutiny of the nominations. 

Political parties are found to be busy preparing polling strategy holding series of meetings maintaining the covid protocol as this time the election would be very remarkable since the maintenance of covid protocol is mandatory. The Dima Hasao would go for poll on April 1. 

In Dima Hasao, till date no violation of MCC reported so far.
