Haflong : When money and power rules the roost in today’s high & mighty political circle, what has come as an inspiring change is the nomination of External Siangshai by the BJP for the prestigious Jatinga Constituency in the ensuing Council Elections, the campaigning for which is already underway in the Hills district of Dima Hasao. The poorest of all the candidates in the fray, External Siangshai no doubt has created quite a ripple among the people and within the political circle of NC Hills Autonomous Council.

A person of very humble origin who even had to sell his Autorickshaw to keep the household running, he dedicated most of the better part of his life for the welfare of the people in the most remote and backward areas of the hills district. His work primarily centred on conservation of nature and the wildlife.

This besides, he also made efforts to generate awareness about women empowerment, income generation through farming and empowered people with the knowledge of self-employment.

He was rewarded for his amiable nature, hardwork and honesty by the BJP with a party ticket to contest the Council Elections in the prestigious Jatinga Constituency. Honoured by the Party and blessed by the people, External Siangshai is very well the emerging star in the political circle of Dima Hasao. Finally, Politics is not just about wealth, it is also about warmth! The warmth in the embrace of External Siangshai, a face in the crowd!
